About the Trainer


Andrew Whitfield was the deputy director for the licensing and enforcement division at the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office.  He was primarily responsible for administering the Colorado Notaries Public Act and representing the State of Colorado in revocation proceedings against notaries.  During his tenure at the Secretary of State’s office, Andrew played a key role in drafting notary administrative rules and testifying on behalf of new legislation in front of the Colorado General Assembly.  

Andrew has been a guest speaker at the National Notary Association’s annual conference where he taught a session entitled “Notarize With Accuracy & Confidence.”  Andrew has taught notary trainings throughout the front range at organizations like US Bank and law firms such as Holland & Hart. 

Prior to accepting the deputy director position at the Secretary of State’s Office, Andrew was a publicist for the Discovery family of networks including the Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet and Discovery Health Channel.  Andrew obtained a degree in political science from American University in Washington, DC and received his Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga School of Law in Spokane, Washington.
